NPS Special Use Permit required. $150 non refundable application fee. Apply 60+ days in advance. Ceremonies are limited to 8 designated wedding sites, mostly in the Giant Forest area. Maximum group size varies by site (most are 15 or fewer). 3 hour ceremony time limit. Prohibited: rice, birdseed, confetti, flower petals, balloons, drones, and amplified music. Chairs and decorations may be restricted by site. Ceremonies cannot take place directly at the base of the General Sherman Tree, so nearby designated sites are used instead.
