Elope in Indiana

Lake Michigan dunes, beech-maple forest, and freshwater shoreline

Indiana Dunes National Park stretches 15 miles along the southern shore of Lake Michigan, with sand dunes, oak savanna, and freshwater beach terrain that photographs surprisingly well. The dunes rise up to 200 feet and give a sense of scale that reads well in ceremony and portrait work. The park is accessible from Chicago, making it a realistic option for Midwest couples who want a landscape ceremony without a flight. Permit requirements are minimal for personal ceremonies.
